Tips on how to THRIVE, not just survive, in the (male-dominated) electrical industry!
Last week, I was honored to speak at the 50th Annual NEMRA (National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association) conference. I shared my stories, tips and ideas on how to THRIVE not just survive in this wonderful electrical industry. Here are a few of them:
Check your woman card - continuing my message from the NAED Trailblazer message. Don’t go into the conversation as a “woman in the industry”; rather, take your seat at the table as a “member of” the electrical industry.
Find your Trailblazer - your role model. My original Trailblazer was my grandmother, JJ.
Embrace fear - quoting Eleanor Roosevelt “Do one thing every day that scares you.”
Find a mentor or 2 or 10 - You’re never too old and it’s never too late.
